Krystyn Muiruri is a second year at Emory University studying Finance with a double major in Quantitative Sciences. Originally from Columbia, Maryland, Krystyn has spent most of her time outside of the classroom working with organizations that serve marginalized students. Beginning with volunteer work in high school, Krystyn found a love for community service that she has continued while at Emory. In school, Krystyn serves on the Scholarship committee for the Emory chapter of the Questbridge Scholars Network, while also working as a volunteer for various faith based organizations on campus. In addition, during the Fall of 2022, Krystyn began work at the Emory University dining services office where she helps organize the university’s weekly sustainability farmer’s market. This semester, Krystyn has worked on new campus initiatives (like the upkeep of a university wide community fridge), to help those who struggle with food insecurity. In the future, Krystyn sees herself in a role where she can use business and technology practices to help uplift underrepresented communities. During the summer of 2023, Krystyn will work in Washington, D.C as a PwC intern.
