Lucia Koo is a current sophomore at Northwestern University majoring in Communication Studies and Economics, with a potential minor in Data Science. Hailing from New York City, she decided to pursue this path, because she loves meeting new people, in addition to analyzing how specific factors influence the economic decisions individuals make. This summer, Lucia worked as a Communications intern at the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services. She hopes to utilize her new skills and experiences and apply them to a more technical, data-based role this upcoming summer. In school, Lucia is currently working as a Research Assistant at Northwestern’s Network for Nonprofits and Social Impact, as well as serving as a Research Aide who writes literature reviews for research papers. She is also a member of the Global Research and Consulting Club, as well as a part of ASG’s Policy Research and Finance Committees. Lucia hopes to pursue a career path that focuses on analyzing economic research and data, in order to bring greater awareness to current social issues like wealth and income inequity.
