TyKerius (T.K.) Monford is currently in his second year at Brown University from Athens, Georgia. TyKerius studies Economics and International Affairs and is deeply passionate about traveling the world and exploring other cultures. Beginning with his first trip abroad in college, he found a love for traveling and has since traveled to 4 other countries including Colombia, Jamaica, Panama, and Switzerland. Growing up in a single parent, low-income household has nurtured a strong interest in studying and combating educational inequalities, growing financial literacy in minority communities, and tackling the lack of diversity and representation in the finance and business industry. At Brown, TK serves as the Co-President of Black In Business at Brown, Is a member of the Brown University Cheerleading Team, Chief Diversity Officer for the Brown Healthcare Investment club, and a dancer in Brown’s Latin Dance Company. Outside of school, he is involved in his community and has worked closely with elected officials in his hometown, as well as in New England. In the future, TK sees himself in a role where he can combine his love for working with people, traveling, and creating positive impact on those around him. This summer, TK completed two internships with a focus on community development and campaign fundraising. TK worked as a fundraising intern for Reservoir Strategies and as a community development intern for a non-profit organization called Jewish Free Loan Chicago.
