Verrels Eugeneo is a third-year student at Pomona College intending to major in Computer Science. Originally born in Jakarta, Indonesia and raised in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Verrels aspires to be a data scientist, software engineer, or product manager. On campus, he serves as the board member and social media coordinator of IDEAS, a student-run organization mentoring Undocumented/DACA students. Being part of IDEAS has developed his interests in advocacy and social impact. He is also involved with Muslim Students Association (MSA) as a campus representative for Pomona in the Claremont Colleges, helping create events to build a more inclusive community of Muslim students around campus. In his free time, you will catch him playing basketball with his friends, exploring the city of LA, and going thrifting for clothes. This past summer, Verrels was a teaching fellow at Breakthrough Collaborative in San Francisco, where he taught sixth-grade mathematics to first-generation, low-income students in the Bay Area. Curious and inventive, Verrels aspires to be working in a collaborative, supportive, and innovative setting where he can be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology that helps mitigate some of the world’s challenges.
